In most Peruvian restaurants at lunchtime, you can get what's called the "menu," which only costs about 2 soles (about 40 pence!) and consists of a soup (usually chicken!) and a main dish of some meat rice and vegetables. Although it doesn't sound exquisite, is really is okay. All the local people have it, and it's great if you are travelling on a shoestring budget like we were! It's sure to fill you up until the evening anyway!
