The 8 year old had pizza as usual, and the 3 year old had a strawberry waffle. (We had just ate cake about an hour before we went.)

We've been to several Smitty's restaurant, and we like them OK. The 3 year old loves getting to order breakfast at supper-time (OK, so do I). We go here because everyone can have what they want.

The hot-turkey sandwich was a special that day and came with a beverage, veggies and potato for $9. The kids meals all came with a drink and a cookie conveniently sealed in a plastic bag to take home. The breakfast choices are $4 (waffle, pancakes, or bacon and eggs), and the other choices are $5 (pizza, burgers, typical kids stuff).

They very kindly split the hot-turkey sandwich in the kitchen, because that would have been messy. It was tasty but there were a few bits of grisly stuff that I wouldn't eat on my share. We gave all the carrots to the 8-year-old and the other frozen veggies we shared with the 3 year old, since they had no veggies as is typical with kids meals these days and drives us all crazy. The baby had a few peas.

The 8 year old ate all his 6-inch pepperoni pizza with gusto, refusing to share with his sibling. The 3 year old had a half waffle, which is all they serve these days. It's disappointing because she can eat a half waffle so I don't get any. The waffle comes covered in strawberries and whipped cream and makes an excellent dessert for mommies. Darn them for making child-sized portions!

There is a kid's club at Smitty's where the kids sign up and get a coupon in the mail for a free meal sometime within 2 months of their birthday so that's OK, but the kids have to collect stamps on a card to get a toy. Wouldn't be so bad, but they never ask if I have the card, and I've lost the cards so I have to get new ones.

For the price everything was OK.

Oh, well. Next time I go I'm getting a waffle. Even if it's supper time. Close
