The Rheinlander is a German food restaurant in Portland, Oregon that is fantastic! Along with food that tastes good, it also has a number of accordion players and opera singers that travel around the restaurant entertaining the guests. I normally don't like German food, but this place has changed my mind. I had the potato pancakes, but the rest of my party of nine, had some of the other specialties including the wiener schnitzel and other German favorites. The staff was highly attentive and very professional. I would recommend this place to any families and even for a nice dinner date or business dinner. It may be crowded, but the noise level seems to be kept to a minimum to allow for a nice conversation. We had a fantastic experience and I would not hesitate to return.
