La Mesa

La Mesa is a local, family-owned dining experience. The atmosphere caters to families, groups or couples. The decor is bright, cheery with Mexican accents. Chips and salsa are brought to each table upon arrival. The salsa leaves much to be desired. It is cooked salsa with little flavor. They have the best cheese dip and freshly made guacamole ($3-4 dollars each). They have a full bar and very strong mixed drinks. Wednesday is $1.99 margarita night. My husband likes the beef enchiladas with the cheese sauce instead of the red sauce ($8.99 for 2 enchiladas, a taco, rice). I have had the enchiladas (beef), tacos, taco salad and the fajitas. All are equally good. The cheese enchiladas was not very good, it was coagulated when it arrived to the table. The mixture of fajitas that have the beef, chicken and shrimp is the best (single $11).The food seems to be authentic and some of the best we have found.
