Foodys Brunch Cafe

Metro: Etienne Marcel or Les Halles

This place serves soup and make-it-yourself salads. It's cheap. A half liter of vegetable or lentil soup is €4.20. A smaller bowl is available for €2.10 .

We tasted both, but the lentil seemed richer so that's what we had. Today was cloudy and cold, so it really hit the spot.

European soups are run through a strainer, blending all the ingredients, making for a thick, rich soup.

Tip: If you are undecided, you can taste samples before making a choice. The soups change daily.

There is a salad bar with a small container going for €5.20 and large €6.80. A prix-fixe menu of soup, small salad, dessert and bread is €8.50 euros.

For a change of pace from the heavy, sauce laden meals, this was wonderful.
