Nothing irritates me more than an expensive restaurant not worth the price. Perhaps it was because we went on Sunday and the food was not the freshest, but my recommendation would be to stay as far away from this restaurant as possible. Ever eat at a place where all the food tasted like dirty refrigerator and/or kitchen cleaning products? Now pay $30 an entree (or up to over $50 for lobster). One plus: they did offer Bon Terra organic wine, something that is seldom seen on a menu.First, you don't get a menu, someone comes around and explains the menu to you. I'd much rather have a self-explanatory menu and be able to ask questions of my waiter. You could tell the guy was so bored from having to tell about the menu every night 50 times, that he had nothing left for friendly service.Included with the meal is a small bowl of three choices of soup and two choices of salad, both served on a little wooden tray. I enjoyed the house salad with bacon, strawberries, almonds. A "bread lady" comes by with some very delicious bread, probably the highlight of the meal. The entree choices are varied, but very expensive. Maybe their specials are better tasting, but I expected a FABULOUS meal for the price and found it to be just plain ordinary.I ordered "dolphin" which is usually known as mahi mahi. Dull dull. I had to ask for extra lemon butter sauce to make it palatable. My companion ordered prime rib, which was large and good. She also had to ask for the au jus sauce. Our other friend ordered the oriental seafood platter which he said was just ok.The view is nice, on the water, but otherwise, it's old and tired. Find another place.

For dinner, we decided to try the 15th Street Fisheries, which turned out to be an excellent choice. Although it took awhile to find it due to a non-English-speaking taxi driver, it was worth the journey. The restaurant has a very pleasant location overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. The upstairs section is for fine dining, with booths and tables arranged so that most diners have a view of the water. It is decorated in a traditional (and expected) nautical theme, and the seating is very comfortable.

The waitstaff was very attentive and prompt. The rum cocktails looked irresistible, so I succumbed! In addition to a huge selection of seafood dishes, the menu had some unusual items on it including kangaroo and alligator! I stuck with a more tried-and-true selection, crab-stuffed flounder, which was outstanding! Each meal comes with a salad, choice of soup, like conch chowder (yum!) and specialty breads. Unfortunately, no room for dessert after a great meal like that! After dinner, we got an extra treat; it was the Fourth of July and fireworks were going off all along the waterway. They looked extra spectacular reflected in the water.

With cocktails and a bottle of wine, the dinner for two was about $100 but well worth the price, given the quality of the food and the ambience.

We didn't realize when we picked this restaurant that it came with a floor show. The locals catch fish for the pelicans, and the pelicans line up on the dock and wait their turn for dinner. They lined up just like soldiers. The restaurant has a five-course meal that they offer at $17 per person, and your selection is very broad for the main entree. The seafood newburg dish was unsurpassed. This restaurant is not easy to find, but it's worth the extra effort.
