Atlantis Dining - Marketplace

We spend part of the week after Christmas, and New Years, at the Atlantis Paradise Island. Prior to making our reservation, we decided NOT to purchase one of the Dining Plans, and we were happy with that decision.

We tried to "budget" ourselves (a seemingly foreign concept to the owners of The Atlantis) to $60 to $75 per day per person. That meant our food budget was about $200 per day for three people. And if that sound too high, you obviously haven't been to The Atlantis.

Almost every day, for a sort-of late morning brunch, we went down to the Marketplace, on the ground floor of the Royal Tower. If we were up and about, at the beach or the other attractions at the hotel, it was convenient. If we were lazy, it was even MORE convenient!

The Marketplace is enormous, with a huge variety of food. It can get busy for the breakfast rush, and again at lunch. But we found that at about 11am, the crowds thinned out. THE TIMES MAY BE DIFFERENT BY SEASON, SO YOU'LL WANT TO ASK AROUND. My son and I are breakfast mavens, but my wife prefers a bigger lunch. So a "brunch" timing was the best of both worlds, and would hold us all until dinner.

Every kind of egg dish, Belgium Waffles (a favorite), EXTREMELY fresh fruit, smoked fish (how can ANYBODY eat that for breakfast?), pasta, burgers, pizza, soups, sandwiches, and TONS of deserts (the Atlantis is NOT a place to lose weight ).

Per person, it came to about $30 with tip. It was $90 for three people for brunch. Sound high? Yup, it sounded that way to us as well. But it was our main "daytime" meal, and we all found everything we wanted in sufficient quantity to satisfy even the teenager among us.

Our evening meals were spread around the resort and in downtown Nassau. Check out my other reviews.
