Reservations are a must and make them in advance, not much same day taken. A lot of local people, the food was excellent with more vegetable and fish dishes. A liter of cabernet was only 12,000 lira, plus we had a bottle of water with fizz. We shared caprice salad for an appetizer, with fresh mozzarella, mixed greens, and cherry tomatoes. For my first course i had tagliatelli amatricana, thats with bacon and arrugola, Carol my wife had gnocchi with 3 cheese. For my second plate Carol had baccala in tomato sauce with roasted polenta, I had pork chops and assorted roasted vegetables served at the same time. Carol had cappachino plus tiramasu,I tried Grappa for the firsttime, with typical biscuits. We met another couple from New York City sitting at the table next to us and spent an hour drinking Grappa eating typical biscuits and talking. We topped off the evening with a 5 minute walk to the rialto where we bought gelato and rode the grand canal down to San Zacharia. The lights inside many of the palazzo lit them up reminding me of fireworks on the fourth of july. The evening was one of the more memorable in a long time.
