Alberto's Osteria

Alberto's was our first stop on a pub crawl through Venice, a great way to spend an evening with friends. Alberto's isn't really a restaurant or a bar, but it has several tables, a full menu of drinks and--best of all--wonderful appetizers. We enjoyed meat balls, fried vegetables, eggplant, cheeses, several salads and bite sized seafood. Everything was melt-in-your-mouth wonderful. Alberto let us climb behind the food counter, peer into the big cooler and pick and choose what we wanted. He gave us plenty of samples. The crowd was a colorful mix of locals and in-the-know tourists.
