Description: The Black Forest Restaurant is our favorite place to order German food and we usually make it a priority to visit when we're in Harrison Hot Springs. Although reservations are recommended because the restaurant can be quite busy, they are not required.
The main courses offered are thin portions of pork prepared as various schnitzel dishes, a pork hock that is incredibly tender, chicken, and seafood featuring Northwest specialties: trout, salmon, prawns. With your meal are served, spaetzle (a type of pasta), red cabbage, carrots and bread. German beers and wines are available although the Canadian taxes are quite hefty. Desserts are scrumptious and include Black Forest cake and apple strudel.
The restaurant is dimly lit with formal linens, German style decor, and candles.
Service is usually very good, with friendly staff, and a very efficient kitchen.
Large groups are often seated along a long table and can make the restaurant quite merry. Staff visit Germany often.
