Dockside food markets (at night)

There's a great range of foods here - specialties include a big choice of fish -all fresh caught and cooked - sugar cane juice, and of course the Zanzibar Pizza. Not your usual pizza - its kind of a pastry/omelette thing, and you can get either savory (veggies and meat) or sweet (chocolate or banana) - or get both!

Lots of locals wanting to talk to you, too - they're not going to do anything, just want to talk to learn some English (though watch out for an offer of a tour as you're leaving).

There is an outdoor night market in Zanzibar Town, entirely lit by candles and oil lamps. You can sample all kinds of local foods, and try a glass of sugar cane juice (not as sweet as it sounds.)
