Gracie's Restaurant

This is family dining at its best. There is only one thing to say about Gracie's and "it's gone to the dogs". Dog-gone-it, they are everywhere, on the table clothes, on the beer mugs (gotta buy one for your collection), on the windows, sitting around the floor, pictures of dogs, pups, you name it. Our two-year-old loved it. Oh, about the food. One word describes it: excellent (even the hot dog our grandson had). The service was beyond our expectation, we didn't feel rushed and you could tell everyone was having a great time. If ever we are in Stowe, VT again, this is one place we will visit again.

Gracies is a small restaurant tucked away downstairs in the corner building at Rt 100 and Rt 108. We are dog lovers; therefore, this dog-themed restaurant was well-received. They have a wide variety of menu items that should cover anyone's taste. Our group had a variety of items such as soup, salad, hamburgers, steak, and pasta dishes, which were all very good. Upstairs, there is a Gracie's Gourmutt Shop that sells Gracie's items, as well as breed-specific items. I don't know if it was the time of year we were there (end of ski season) or if it is always like this, but we were disappointed that the shop was not well-stocked. The restaurant menu, as well as online shopping for the shop, is available at the following address: http://www.gracies.com/index.html.

This is a fun family restaurant with a "dog" theme - great burgers and all -American casual food. The pecan pie for dessert was fresh, homemade, and excellent. Reasonable prices - our meatloaf specials with fresh green beans and mashed potatoes were "all you can eat" for about $11. Gift shop upstairs for all things "doggie"-related and a kitty corner too. I think there was a bar there, but we liked it as a family restaurant.

Gracie's is a bar/restaurant with a clever dog theme. They specialize in beef and seafood entrées, you can even purchase bulk meats from the butcher shop they have. I had a Swiss burger with a hot pepper relish that was out-of-this-world. With a good selection of local, domestic and imported brews, Gracie's is the place that satisfies after a day on the slopes.
