Don't go for the Service
There is not much selection in the way of "good" places to eat and there is no place wthere you can get good "food" and good "service"; it's just not there. Poor service is the norm in Woodland. The same, unfortunately, goes for Morrisons. The food for the most part is good, but overpriced for the lack of service and stale menu. The scalloped potatoes need a little salt, then they are pretty tasty. They always have a filet on special with demi glaze or Maitre De butter, etc. and it is always excellent. I think the Chef must be a lover of soup. I have never had a soup there that I didn't throughly enjoy. Their house clam chowder is out of this world. Better then any chowder that I have ever had; even in San Francisco, and the French Onion is as I call it, "liquid gold". They used to make their croutons themselves and that was a real treat we always looked forward to, especially coupled with the wonderful blue cheese dressing they have. Not any more, so I usually don't order salad as my starter. I have "tried" the Lobster twice, each time sending it back, because tasted old and was quite fishy. Not the delicacy I am used to, so I would strongly recommend you pass on that dish. The Scampi, on the other hand, is wonderful. They use Brandy. Not something that I would have thought to use, but it works quite well. You kind of get that sweet, garlicky sauce; somewhat like Marsala sauce and let me tell you, they don't skimp on the garlic. Yum! I order a side of Scampi added to my filet; wonderful "surf & turf". Good lamb and nice fish preparations. The Beer Battered Prawns are a favorite of my husbands. Very good. I love veggies, but like them dressed up a bit. Morrison's vegies, when fresh, are wonderful. Cauliflower, carrots, brocolli, red peppers and onions sauted in just a hint of butter and what seems to be a good season salt or garlic salf. I usually eat every bite. Their menu hasn't changed much in the 17 years I have lived in Woodland, so it could definately use a face lift, but most of what they do serve is quite good.
So go for the food, not the service or Lobster, and you should be content. If you have no service expectations from the beginning, you won't be disapointed.

Morrison's is a nice place to eat. The atmosphere is dark and romantic and the food is delicious. It's on the 3rd floor of a historic building in downtown Woodland. They have this melt in your mouth homemade wheat bread. There's a full bar. They have great selections of food including steaks, seafood, pasta. I've had the jumbo prawns there and really enjoyed them. My husband liked their prime rib. Also, last time I checked they were in the Entertainment Book (1/2 off dinner). It's a great place with delicious food, really nice employees and a romantic atmosphere.
