Located next door to the Bar of America on historic Commercial Row in downtown Truckee, Pacific Crest is both casual and classy. The tables are set with white tablecloths and service is efficient. It is open for lunch and dinner. Specialties include gourmet pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven, creative pastas and meat, fish and poultry with an Italian/French/Mediterranean accent. The seafood pastas are always a good choice for lunch or dinner. For lunch, I like the green salad with chicken, carmelized nuts and gorgonzola cheese. An unusual choice is the Thai chicken pizza, which is topped with chicken (of course), cilantro and pickled ginger! It's about 12" so it's a generous serving as a main dish for one, or big enough for 4 to share as an appetizer. There is a nice selection of wines by the glass to accompany your meal.
