This is THE spot for "Shua Bing" - or in English, "Shaved Ice". It's near the Shi Da University (or in English, Taiwan Normal University), and is a popular spot for students to go hang out. You'll be very lucky if you get a seat, but the Shaved Ice comes in handy take-out, eat-as-you-go containers. The best kind is the Mango shaved ice. I can't even describe how good it tastes! They use lots of real mango, and this great sweet delicious sauce that they pour all over the ice, making it a gooey, very yummy dessert. After mango season is over (usually summer until Sept/Oct), they replace it with strawberries. I can't even tell you what other kinds of shaved ice they have, cause all I go there for is the Mango ice! They're open longer in the summer - their hours say 10:30am to midnight. In the winter, they're supposedly open from 11:30am to 11:00pm. They also have another store nearby in Lane 12, No.4 of the same street. If you can't find it, just ask for the "Bing Guan", which is the Chinese name for the place. It was so popular when I went there - I'm sure they have a lot more stores now!
