Resort restaurants x 5

Overall, the food in the Breezes resort finishes a little bland but probably needs to be, so that the majority of people will eat. When I say bland, I mean that there is little added spice, heat, or seasoning, but it was available to add yourself. The Japanese restaurant was my least favourite, only because there are better in Calgary. The Italian restaurant and the French restaurants were my personal fave for an evening meal, comparable to many others I have eaten at. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. I didn't have a chance to eat at the Mexican restaurant during an evening meal, but it was open 24 hours a day, with fast-food that helped soak up the Cuervo. Mmmmmmm Cuervo... Tipping isn't required in this resort but is quietly appreciated. The key is being ninja, like in the delivery, as staff are encouraged to decline a tip.

There were three restaurants at the resort. We would not recommend the Italian restaurant at all, but the steakhouse was phenomenal (we did not eat at the Mexican place). The buffet the resort offered was great as well, with much to choose from, anything from local cuisine to American/Canadian cuisine.

There is no place to dine except your hotel. All hotels seem to be all-inclusive. There are no local restaurants, because there is no real city near any of the resorts in Punta Cana. This is a remote area, and no one would live there if not for the jobs in the hotels. Our hotel had five restaurants. The food was not fancy and some guests did get the 'runs' from eating there, but thankfully, not us. We ate at each of the restaurants on site and at the caferteria style buffet restaurant. I would not recommend this hotel for their food. It was bland and nothing to write home about. The hotel was rated as four-stars so it should have been good. I don't mean to sound totally negative but I have travelled quite a bit and this was not up to my standards except for the breakfast restaurant near the beach. They made great omelets to order each day.
