Pizza Pazza

This is a chain of small pizzerias, with something like four locations in Playa. They are the best!!!

A lot of other guys offer pizza for the same price, with bigger slices or the same size for less, but the kings of Playa are Pizza Pazza, the only ones consistently busy all day long. The reason, the thin crust and the flavor are perfect.

My only complaint is that usually there is only one attendant taking care of serving and charging, instead of one serving and one cashier, but it seems that the owner is not really worried about people waiting. A few minutes is OK, but when you are standing in line with the fabulous pizzas just in front of you, time is eternal.

Some of the combinations I can remember, besides the normal ones, are: 3 cheese; spinach and tomato; pesto; tomato and mushrooms; spinach and gorgonzola; etc. All of them yummy, but the special of the house in my opinion is the shrimp one.

Each slice is 16 pesos (February 2006), with some specialties it is 18 pesos, and the shrimp is 21 pesos.

You can order some of the combos like: 2 slices and a soda; 6 slices and a 2 litre soda and so on, a good deal if you have a big group to feed.

Some of the locations are:
-10th Avenue in front of Plaza Pelicanos (Blockbusters).
-5th Avenue, in front of Mandarina´s, a block south from Constituyentes.
-Avenue Juarez, in front of the kindergarten. Between 10th and 15th Avenue.

The chain is popular with both locals and tourist, you will see a blend of both at any location.

These are pizza places conveniently located, with good prices (was 16 pesos per slice in Jan 05) and excellent flavor.

The crust is thin and tasty, the toppings are varied and nicely choosen, the ingredients always fresh, and the pizzas keep coming out of the oven all day and night long. Normally you don't have to wait more than 10-15 minutes if your favorite is gone when you arrive, which can happen, as they are very popular with both the local population and tourists.

You won't find tables to sit at, as this is fast food; you only have some stools for a quick bite, but that is enough, as you will devour these pizzas on the act. The nice thing about per-slice serving is that you can try several flavours on the same visit and leave very satisfied, knowing you will be back for more.

There are some packages, including soft drinks and to-go big orders.

If your pizza includes shrimp, there is a little charge of 3 pesos more per slice.

Locations:

10th Ave. between 6th and 8th Streets.

12th Street between 5th and 10th Avenues.

5th Ave. and 20th Street.

Buen provecho.
