This is technically an area known as Playacar. It is a timeshare, but we ate several meals there, namely breakfast and lunch. If you are looking for a good value, this is it. It's buffet-style and ranges from salads and fresh fruit to Mexican, seafood, and continental. All is priced under $10, and you have an open-air restaurant that has views of the pool and the sea.

Can't go wrong here...

The maitre d' was the best. He was sharp and attentive. We had a modified meal plan, but the menu selection was a variety of chicken, fish, pork, and steak. All were presented beautifully. The steak was superbly tender and flavorful.

This was a semi-inclusive resort, so we had a pre-selected menu, although they had theme nights. If you don't like seafood, there wasn't much to choose from and everything was fried in lots of butter. Some of the staff were understanding and would let you order tacos, etc. instead.
