The food was ok, but it's not the best in the area. The seating is all outside in the pool bar area, which is very distracting. There are not enough reservation slots available in one night for the amount of people staying at the hotel, so they need to expand their space. Also, the service was slow.

The dining is one of the features that is included in the all-inclusive resort. They have a very nice restaurant on the grounds called Portofino, which you need dinner reservations for. This is a nice sitdown restaurant where you get waited on and select your courses from the menu. You can also go to the restaurant at the neighboring resort called La Scala, which is also fine dining and included in the resort.

On resort dining includes the buffet, which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and two of the three reservation restaurants, which are included in your all-inclusive fees. The buffet tries to please all visitors with foods of many types. There are many things to choose from -- entrees were good but not great, but the salad, fruit, and dessert bars were wonderful.

Down by the pool/cabana/bar is a hut that serves quick food such as nachos, pizza, hamburgers, hotdogs, salad, fruit, etc. and is open all day until dinner. The cabana then turns into a reservation-only Mexican restaurant. Portofino is another reservation only restaurant on the resort that serves "fine dining" seafood.

A neighboring resort just a pleasant walk away offers a taste for the Italian foods, again included with your all-inclusive fees and reservation only. Don't forget to wear your slacks, gentlemen, because you may not get in without them. There are some wonderful restaurants in Playa Del Carmen that you may want to sample too. Cozumel offers everything from the Hard Rock Cafe to Paradise Cafe on the southern most tip of the island. Paradise Cafe is a secluded ocean front hut that plays Bob Marley music as you relax in hammacks or beach chairs and let life get a lot easier. Oh! By the way they have the best quesadillas I've ever had!!!
