A very typical Ecuadorian dish is readily available in Riobamba in its purest form: llapingachos. These delectable fried potato patties have cheese hidden on the inside. These are especially prevalent among street venders near the plaza de concepcion. Other types of street food include fritada, fried pork served with hominy in a small plastic bag, and french fries. Almost all street food (or drink) is served in small plastic bags, and your colas will come with a straw.
