Food and Fun for the Family

This was the last restaurant we ate at on our vacation and was my second favorite. It has a fun atmosphere and offers indoor/outdoor or deck seating. They have a nice little gift shop where you can purchase tshirts and other fun itmes. They have a nice watercolor print for only $10 unframed. I picked up some bottles of their special hotsauce for shrimp and oysters for less thatn $4 a bottle. There is a playground for the kiddies. **Tip: there is a claw game on the bottom level that is $2 each try. However, the prize is live lobsters and if you are lucky enough to snag one of these bad boys the restaurant will cook it for you and even serve you the sides for free. And some of the lobsters have money clipped to their claws so you can come out ahead if you are a skilled player** We didn't discover this until after our meal.

My friend Mike and I dined on baked parmasean oysters-delicious ! Stuffed baked crab- very good with an amazing dipping sauce, cajon shrimp - could have easily fed 3. Fried clams - was alright. But the BEST dish was the smoked yellow fin tuna dip. It was my altime favorite thing I ate all week, and I ate allot of seafood and tried many new things. It is to die for !! We ate outside and had a nice ocean breeze to keep us cool. After our meal we strolled along the small board walk outside the lower level and admired all the ocean-front homes and their fancy boats. There was plenty of blue crabs, hermit crabs and fish swimming in the shallow waters to watch, as well as cranes and some other type of birds that like to perch on the boats.

I asked several locals which places they recommended and this one was mentioned sev times. This is a fun restaurant with good food at a good price. We split our meal and I think it came to about $30 each (with tip and our drinks) for all of that food ! I'm coming back the end of July with my children and I'll definitely eat here again.

Casual dining, indoors, deck or bar. Seafood and American food, cajun specialities. Child's menu $4.99-6.99 includes drink, pirate's eye patch, and sand bucket (food served in the plastic bucket, playground at restaurant).

We didn't care for their fish cowder or scallops. I recommend blackened fish, jumbalaya, grouper nuggets (kids), fried shrimp, grilled fish, and fried clams (appetizer-large portion and only $4.99). Locals eat here, and we do too when we visit; a family of four can dine for $50-75, depending on your selections.
