Spencers for Steaks and Chops

We went to Spencer's for lunch. It is located in the Hilton and parking is free in their garage with validation. The first thing the hostess asked us is if we wanted to join the club, because it is a "private club". We were charged $5 for a 2-week membership so that we could order a glass of wine. In SLC, you have to join the club to drink alcohol. My Zinfandel was $10 and the merlot was $8.

I got the London Broil medium rare and it was a bit rare for me. It has a sweet ginger sort of marindade. The rib eye was a much better choice at $12.95 - that steak was absolutely excellent. We shared the baked crock of onion soup and it was amasing with the a peppery beef broth and carmelized onions with losts of melted cheese on top. Their salads that came with the entrees were excellent with a house balsalmic dressing. Our total bill including tip and tax was about $60.
