Take a cab to the very top of "restaurant row" well past the tourist area, climb the stairs, and look out over the city to the sea. It is an incredible setting for some terrific food. Señor Mr. Pepe is one of the friendliest people I have ever met and is very (justifiably) proud of his restaurant and his food.
When we were there live mood music was presented by a gentleman who played piano and sang very well, setting the mood for a very romantic dinner on the outside terrace. The 5-course meal was beautifully presented and prepared from very fresh ingredients, including a delicious squash soup, fresh grouper, and one of my favorite things about Mexico, FLAN, with Señor Pepe there to make certain everything was just right. The view, the food, the music, ROMANCE!
