Flags for each of the Big Twelve teams hang from the ceiling and the walls are decorated with murals of sporting pictures. A bucket on the table contained a bottle of catsup (which ours was empty), and two Corona bottles filled with salt and pepper. The drink menus were laminated sheets, also stuck in the bucket.
Three things differentiate Johnny's from other sports bars:
Johnny's offered a discount on premier and specialty beers when we last ate here. I appreciate the opportunity to try different beers, and opted for one of the darker brews. The server talked my wife into trying the Michelob Ultra - the beer with only 95 calories and 2.5 carb grams. That stuff tasted like colored water. I don't think we'll order it again.
I tried the chicken wrap and was not as pleased with it as the other sandwiches. I believe it would have tasted better warmed. I only ate half, and ate the other half (heated in the microwave) for lunch the next day. It was great as leftovers. My wife had Aloha Chicken sandwich and was pleased with her selection. Both our meals came with fat potato wedges, more than we could eat. Other times I’ve eaten here I’ve had the hamburgers, pork tenderloin, and the huge club sandwich. My wife usually orders one of the chicken sandwiches. Overall, we have been very pleased with the food from this restaurant. We have also experienced excellent attention from the servers.
Johnny’s honors the coupon in the Entertainment book for buy-1-get-1-free. They also participate with IDine, so I get my extra airline miles by using my credit card. We do like the atmosphere and plan to continue eating here.
