Logan's Roadhouse

We love this place! With every visit we make to the Orlando area we make certain that we complete our visit with a meal at Logan’s Roadhouse. We first found this wonderful establishment during a weekend trip to Orlando that my wife and I took in 2002. We actually were hoping to get in somewhere else but the wait time was a lot longer than we were willing to wait. So we drove up the street and tried Logan’s. When we walked into the restaurant the floor was covered with peanut shells and found the wait to only be fifteen to twenty minutes. The hostess suggested waiting at the bar where we found the dollar draft beer special. We knew right away that a restaurant offering hand cut steaks and ribs where you can throw peanut shells on the floor while enjoying draft beer for a buck, was place we could cherish forever.

Don’t get the wrong impression, you don’t have to live in a trailer park to enjoy this restaurant. While Logan’s offers a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere where it is all about fun, they also have a great menu consisting of U.S.D.A. choice steaks and the freshest chicken and seafood selections.

On the latest visit we took both of our kids, my father and his friend, plus my two cousins, their wives and their four kids. No matter how hard we tried explaining that you were suppose to eat the peanut inside the shell, the kids enjoyed smashing the entire thing on the table and throwing the mess all over the floor. Our waiter was from Boston and although he was a Red Sox fan, he did a great job keeping the thirteen of us happy.

We started the table off with a couple different appetizers. We had the Rockin’ Onion Petals, Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks and Hot Spinach & Artichoke Dip with Tortilla Chips and although there was not a dollar draft special, we did get 23oz. Beers at a special price. The waiter did such a great job at making sure everything flowed smoothly. I didn’t even notice when he cleared the appetizers to make room for the entrees and there was never a dry glass on the table.

When it came time for the entrees to be delivered, there was not one mistake. Each of the thirteen different meals was prepared to perfection and as equally delicious. I have to mention the fact that one of my favorite things at Logan’s is the sweet potato you can order as a side dish with your meal.

In conclusion, Logan’s is one of a few restaurants we visit on a regular basis that has never disappointed us. Each of our experiences has been tasty and memorable and we hope there are many more to come.

My wife Kathy and I discovered this place during our first visit four years ago. We've made it an annual traditional stop each year since. We normally eat outside in the patio and enjoy the moderate weather. The staff is ever friendly and cheerful. The men's restroom gives you a chuckle as you exit. Some jokester pasted a "Ladies" sign on the inside. The first time I entered, I thought I did go into the ladies restroom upon seeing that sign. Once I got further, I knew it was a joke when I saw the urinals. While you wait for your table, complimentary peanuts are given to you to enjoy. The shells are thrown right on the floor, with a staff member coming around periodically to clean them up. It's a perfect place to start your vacation after unpacking your car and getting settled into your room. Logan's Steakhouse is located right on Highway 192, right up the street from "Old Town". There is a Walgreens right across the street too. That helped my wife and me, as we discovered we left our toothpaste at home.

The Roadhouse is also on Highway 192 in Kissimmee not too far past Medieval Times and the Kissimmee location of Congo River Mini Golf (heading east). It’s a typical bar and grill; we arrived there for an early lunch and had almost the hold place to ourselves.

It looks just like the place in the Patrick Swayze movie, with lots of wooden rails and tin siding. The grill’s main claim to fame is you can have unlimited buckets of roasted peanuts and you’re allowed, actually encouraged, to toss the shells on the floor. This makes for a messy restaurant, but I don’t have to clean it up, so who cares?!

Our party of seven ordered many different menu selections from a roadhouse cheeseburger to an Asian grilled chicken salad. I had the French dip, which was delicious, but too big for me to eat it all (all the peanuts I ate before the meal didn’t help). Everyone enjoyed their meal and the waiter was accommodating, but he gave us our space. We sat there for over an hour after the meal just chatting and the wait staff didn’t seem to mind. If we had known what a dud Epcot was going to be, we would have stayed longer. The prices were pretty reasonable: $8 for a cheeseburger or French dip with your choice of fries, steamed veggies, or rice.

It’s a little out of the way if you’re staying in Orlando, but if your vacation base is Kissimmee, you should stop by.

Great ribs, steaks, etc. It's what Lonestar Steak House should be. Service was good, fast, and friendly. Went back twice in a week. Restaurants were consistent -- we went to one near Tampa also.

Logan's Steakhouse, located centrally on 192, right by Publix, is a great place to catch a good meal at a great price. The menu offers great appetizers, the usual burger plate with various additions, club sandwiches and open plate specials. Their steak however is a lot better than what I expected for the price we paid. It is juicy, flavorful and done exactly how you order it. The Caesar salad is one of the best I have ever had. On that note, my niece and nephew preferred Logan's mac and cheese to that at Disney.

Logan's servers are top notch. They are friendly and accommodating. You don't feel rushed at all and they exercise patience with children.

My nephew was excited about his fifth birthday and upon hearing about his Disney adventures, the manager had our server surprise us with a Happy Birthday brownie sundae, very special indeed. Thank you Logan's.
