Puleo's Grille

My sisters and I went to Puleo's Grille for lunch on Saturday. The sign outside said "Southern roots with Italian heritage." I was looking forward to finding out what that meant.

The menu was quite extensive, with many choices in each category. My sisters ordered spinach artichoke queso that came with thick tortilla chips.

There were several salad choices that were large enough to be an entire meal. I ordered the baby spinach salad. It came with tons of fresh spinach leaves and generous portions of apples, Gorgonzola, and candied pecans. One of my sisters ordered the spa salad. It had a wonderful selection of vegetables. It came with a spicy avocado ranch dressing that she really enjoyed.

For dessert we had carrot cake with cream cheese icing.

Although the food was excellent, the actual experience was lacking. We were seated in the nonsmoking section, which has no separation from the smoking section whatsoever. The people in the booth right next to us were smoking nonstop. We made our waitress aware of this issue and she said she would tell the hostess not to seat nonsmoking parties in that area.

The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated, with a warm atmosphere.

When you're ready to go, you can get a drink in a to-go cup for no extra charge.

There were so many good things on the menu at Puleo's that I could go back again and again without getting bored.
