The food in Hong Kong is one of experiences that should last a lifetime. We all have had the typical "Chinese food takeout" from a cardboard box, but it's not the same until you've have some real stuff. I'm not talking about weird stuff, just better-tasting and amazing-looking food.
The specialties differ from restaurant to restaurant, but one of the things to try is called Congee jook. This is almost like porridge, but made from rice. It's not only used for breakfasts, but can be eaten any time of the day. They may add meats and seafood to this, as well as preserved or salted eggs. Anyway, it may sound a bit different, but I guess the Chinese culture IS entirely different than the North American culture.
Food in general is very good, but some of it is also very expensive. But that's just like anywhere else in the world. Good food = high prices!
