The Golden View provided the perfect silver anniversary experience. We have been visiting Italy for twenty years and love our food and wine. Firenze was the choice to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary and a perfect restaurant very important.
The plan was to sample a few recommended establishments before the anniversary evening itself. On the second night we discovered the Golden View. Apprehensive at what sounds like a Chinese take away, we were so blown away by our first meal that we spent every night of our stay sampling the culinary delights of this wonderful restaurant.
The decor is modern, smart with some beautiful local art. The staff were friendly and polite yet efficient, the food amazing, both for myself, a carnivore, and for my vegetarian wife. As for the wine list - a wide range of prices but all top quality. And all complemented by the sound of live jazz music and the best views in Florence. As for the Wedding Anniversary meal?
The staff were welcoming, leading us to our window table on the balcony looking out at the Ponte Vecchio and River Arno. The roses provided earlier in the day were in place at the table awaiting my wife. The food, wine and ambience were perfect.
Did we enjoy it? Let's just say that we are booked to return next year ...
