This is a family-run pub with no set menu - see the board in the eating area. They have a good range of food, including vegetarian options. The food is cooked fresh, so it will take a little while. Starters included gnoche and scallops. Mains included stuffed vine leaves, steak with mushroom sauce, chicken in horseradish sauce with lardons, duck with noodles... But these change really regularly. They have really nice puddings, like a crème brulee, which was really creamy and smooth, and a chocolate cup, which was (no surprise) really chocolaty. Wine is inexpensive, but with a quality to match. They offer real ales. The eating area is nonsmoking, and there is a pub garden. Parking is on the main road - you can park on an adjacent road where there are less restrictions. There is an hourly bus service from Plymouth and regular service to Salcombe and Dartmouth.
