Don't Go To All American Cafe for Dinner

Don't get sucked in by the romantic idea of outdoor dining in a pretty summer destination village. We live nearby and were showing some out-of-town visitors around Cooperstown Sunday evening. All American Cafe turned out to be an embarrassment to us.
All six of us ordered steak dinners that would have been bad at half the $20+ price. The meat was fatty and poor quality. The few pieces of vegetable on the plates were tasteless and wilted. The baked potato was too firm.
We shouldn't have expected too much after the very small and not very fresh salads arrived in little paper bowls with celo-wrapped plastic utensils - think airplane food. There was no offer of bread or rolls. Our sodas (in paper cups) were definitely not name brand, even though we ordered that way and were not told otherwise. Miraculously, we were given real forks and knives for our entrees.
To cap it off, when we expressed our dissatisfaction to the waitress, her response was that she hears the same comments frequently from other customers and that the owners are aware of the complaints. This restaurant is a poor representative of a village that celebrates exceptional achievement.
Do yourself a favor and walk right by.
