The high point of our dining experiences in CO Springs was a meal at The Famous. Located at 31 N. Tejon, Colorado Springs' "Restaurant Row," The Famous is a steakhouse that delivers excellent (but not adventurous) cuisine in a stylish setting. We sampled steaks (including surf & turf), wine and excellent cocktails, and the customer service was just as attentive as you'd like.
Just down the street - but a world away food-wise - is the Olive Branch. Yikes, this was a horrendous meal. When our server almost immediately spilled A PITCHER of water on one member of our party, we could forgive and forget. The food, however, made us hold a grudge. The atrocities included a heaping, crunchy portion of chicken parmesan and a dry, tasteless burger. Add in a brightly-lit dining room and inept service...you have a must-avoid restaurant.
