La Missione de Kino

  • May 22, 2002

La Missione de Kino is a spot you could easily overlook because it looks not unlike a palapa bar, which isn't on the ocean, with one table to the right of the small structure and an outdoor dining area with room for about eight tables to the left of the structure. If you enjoy good food, missing it will be a mistake. The meal at La Missione de Kino is one of the best I have ever had anywhere. I had the chipolte sea bass and found the blending of flavors to be truly fine. Other people in our group had the coconut shrimp, and they, too, were excellent, as was the pork. The owner is the cook, bartender, and greeter (and occasionally the waiter,) so there are times when he is very busy doing all his jobs. If you want to be fed immediately, go early. If you can't go early and want to be fed promptly, go elsewhere. If you have the time to wait for a truly exceptional dining experience, go to La Missione de Kino (in the phone book).
