This restaurant is in the area of Westerpark, just off the center. I never caught a tourist here, it's mainly visited by people living in the neighborhood. It still has an typical Amsterdam hipness to it: most of the time you should be glad to be able to eat here, and the staff is as non-interested as anywhere in this city. They do speak English (many don't speak Dutch).
That said: it's still one of my favorites. The Italian chef creates divine combinations on pizzas: the YAMYAM Special is with marscapone and topped with fresh rucola. Pizzas and foccacias are often ordered per table, to be cut as a starter. I often order the swordfish, which satisfies me with every bite. Finishing with the Sicialian coffeegranita with excellent whipped cream leaves you with a yummy feeling for the rest of the evening.
Dinner is often in two shifts: make reservations for 6:00-6:30 or for 8:30. The first shift is very convenient if you want to catch a movie afterwards. . .
