Anniversary Dinner at the Corn Maiden

  • May 1, 2009

We spent our 9th wedding anniversary on vacation in New Mexico at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort. We made our anniversary dinner reservations at the Corn Maiden on the premises and were very pleased with the atmoshpere, the food and the service. The views of Sandi Peak are also great. They specialize in unique grilled meats with spicy New Mexico flavorings, such as Chorizo Sausage, Wild Boar sausage, and Rose Salted Rib Eye to name a few.

We had the Red Chili Escargot to start off, which were excellent. My wife had the Halibut Fillet and I had the Rack of Lamb. Both were very tastefully presented and were very good. It was a great evening and we will remember it for the rest of our lives.

The Corn Maiden

Ate at a table next to the window, with a view of the mountains. Attentive, unhurried service by a true friendly professional. We split a wonderful appetizer, which they did without a problem. Their specialty is their Rotisserie Grill, a skewer of meats, a combination of delicacies far too plentiful to finish! I'd told them that we were celebrating my husband's birthday, and they subtly - without singing! - served him a marvelous, beautiful dessert...and 2 spoons. We were disappointed that more New Mexico wines weren't offered, as we like to experience the wines of the locale; however, our server scrounged up a bottle in the back. Not the best wine....but perfect for the evening! This was a quality dining experience all around! The view of the Mountains made it an absolutely perfect setting for our romantic dinner.
