Pepi's never disappoints. They serve more Austrian than German cuisine (having one Austrian and one German parent, I know the difference). My friend had the classic wienerschitzel, and it was huge, crispy on the outside and with very tender veal in the middle. I asked for a side of sauerkraut, which was brought immediately. I had the braised pork loin with spaetzel and red cabbage. Everything was perfect. Dining was out on the patio, with live entertainment.

Pepi's is located in Vail right beside the famous clock tower. The bar and restaurant are very charming and even managed to make me feel like I was in Germany (which is saying a lot considering I lived there for 16 years). The restaurant, bar, and guesthouse were opened by an Austrian native, Pepi, who visits amongst the guests and will entertain with a few words of German.

I was very impressed with their food and extensive menu. Our meal was wonderful and served to us by a very friendly staff in a comfortable amount of time. The restaurant also offers live music some nights, but it is probably best to call ahead to confirm what type of entertainment there will be.

While we visited in the summer, we did not feel that we needed reservations, but they are suggested during the busier winter months. This restaurant is definitely a must visit during your trip to Vail. For families with children, the menu also offers children's selections, with items that are more familiar to kids.
