We visit Nassau often and there are a few restaurants that we always go back to. Columbus Tavern is one of them. We like to stay on Paradise Island so Columbus Tavern is great as it's on Paradise Island. Very relaxed atmosphere and sits right on the waterfront so very nice views. Seafood is wonderful. They also have other great items, for kids who may not want seafood. Their meat and chicken dishes are very good, whether with a Bahamian twist or more continental.
Their website is at http://www.columbustavernbahamas.com. They also have great daily happy hour where they serve free conch fritters with your drinks. Flat screen TV right at the bar, and their service is also very friendly. Plus the restaurant has very good prices for being on Paradise Island.

Columbus Tavern serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is the only native waterfront restaurant on Paradise Island serving delicious, fresh fish dishes cooked anyway you like it; great steaks, such as their Flaming Steak Diane prepared tableside; and local Bahamian specialties.
It's a beautiful spot, especially if you get a table right by the open-air windows. Columbus Tavern has live music on Friday and Saturday nights and daily happy hours from 5 to 7pm, serving tropical cocktails at great prices.
Some of our favorite dishes include:
- Grouper "New Providence"--It's stuffed with crabmeat stuffing and sautéed and served with lobster and shrimp.
- Fisherman's Fiesta--lobster tail, shrimp, and scallops
- Flaming Steak Diane, prepared tableside
- Grilled Marinated Salmon Royal, served with a lemon caper sauce
- Rack of Lamb
- Stone Crab Claws and Conch Fritters for appetizers
- Warm Guava Duff for dessert--it melts in your mouth!
You can make reservations online at their website, www.columbustavernbahamas.com.

This restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and overlooks the Nassau waterfront. It's a beautiful spot at night, especially if you get a table right by the open window area.
Their fish is always fresh and they will prepare it anyway you like it and their meat is delicious!
Here are some of my favorite dishes:
- Flaming Steak Diana. A 12oz certified Black Angus New York strip steak prepared table side the traditional way.
- Grouper "New Providence" which is a filet of Nassau grouper stuffed with a herb & crab meat stuffing, sautéed & served with lobster & shrimp.
- Fisherman's Fiesta. A 5oz lobster tail, shrimps & scallops lightly blackened & served with a spicy Creole sauce.
- I love their lamb too which is so tender and when available, their Jerk Chicken dish is great.
- In my opinion, they have the best Guava Duff on the island! It's perfectly warm and melts in your mouth.
They have daily Happy Hour and a live singer on Friday and Saturday nights. They also serve a traditional Bahamian style breakfast on Staurday and Sunday mornings.
The restaurant is located on Paradise Island (opposite end of Atlantis. Cheap taxi ride from there. About 20 min walk or you can try taking the free Atlantis shuttle and asking them to drop you off at the restaurant since it's just next to the Ocean Club Golf Course that the shuttle goes to. They will drop you off at the gate entrance off the main road and then you just have to walk down to the waterfront from there).

I really enjoy the breakfast at the Columbus Tavern. It sits in a marina at the Paradise Harbor Cove resort, and it is nice & quiet. The breakfast specials are delicious. One drawback is that the waiters do like to relax a little before bringing your check, so be careful if you are in a hurry.
