We went to several dinner buffets during our trip to Las Vegas. The Cravings at Mirage was our favorite. The food was excellent and the atmosphere is modern and sleek. You can make reservations, which saves you from waiting in the long lines. There are so many choices that is hard to decide even where to start. The seafood is delicious. King crab legs and huge shrimp. We also enjoyed the sushi. The prime rib was tender, the salads fresh, and the dessert was fabulous. We especially enjoyed the Italian ice cream (gelato)! We can't wait to go back !

We went to Cravings specifically because we had heard it was one of the best buffets in Vegas. $22.50 for brunch, and I was not that impressed. There was a lot of food. The sheer volume was overwhelming and when we were first seated, all I could think was "I'll never find my way around here." I quickly found out that, yes, there is a lot of food, but I don't want to eat too much of it.

The whole restaurant is sectioned off: Chinese, Italian, comfort food, salad, dessert, etc. The Italian food was just pizza--no pastas, no breads. Comfort foods was eggs, French toast, and oatmeal. Yes, I like those foods, but not for $22. While everything was very good to look at, eating it wasn't as much fun as it should have been. It's kind of like they put a lot of energy into the appearance and less the flavor.

The vegetarian options were dismal. I kept coming back with odd combinations of food, none of which really complemented each other. French toast with pizza; creamed corn and sushi. The salad was very good with a lot of options and excellent dressing, but again, I don't want to pay that much money to just eat salad.

I came out of an all-you-can-eat buffet unsatisfied, which I didn't really think was possible. I ate all of the vegetarian options available and got bored with them. My meat-eating friends didn't seem too thrilled either, and after a while, getting up and loading your plate with disappointing food just seemed like too much work.
