Cafe Maure Sidi Bou Hadid could be found on the corner of the medina, directly south of Centre Ville's center. I didn't see this when I first walked around Hammamet. A friend invited me to have breakfast there, and I was surprised that it even existed. The cafe faces the sea, and there's a pathway that divides it from the waves crashing against the rocks below. It's a beautiful experience to just sit there and chill out. My friend told me that the best seats are the ones right on the edge so that you have an unblocked view of the ocean and the beach. Occasionally we were approached by men selling small bundles of jasmine, which my friend bought for me because he thought I should carry this scent of jasmine (which truly was divine). Our breakfast was pretty much the same as in a cafe in Paris: "cappresso" (cappuccino espresso), pain du chocolat, orange juice, and water.
I returned to this cafe at night, when it's not as packed. I found out that the cafe does not serve any alcohol. However, they did have the shisha and mint tea, which was excellent. My friend explained that because the shisha can be harsh on your throat, it's better to have tea or soda or something other than beer.
Overall, I really liked this restaurant and I would recommend anyone check it out!
