Buddy's Bar-B-Q

Buddy's Bar-B-Q is a favorite spot for "Knoxvillians." Buddy's is a fast-food restaurant (you can either drive through or order and wait at the counter). The menu has the usual selection of barbecue items (pulled or sliced pork, chicken, ribs) and the traditional accompaniments (corn on the cob, potato salad, creamy coleslaw, baked beans, and fries). Dinners are served with hush puppies. My favorite is the pulled-pork sandwich. If you dine in, you can add your own amount of regular and hot barbecue sauce. Order sweet tea to drink - it's a Southern favorite. You can easily fill up at Buddy's for $5 to $6.

If you're dining in a group, get the "Feeds 5." The joke is that it feeds five or two hogs. The reality is that it easily feeds five. Add a side of ribs for some variety.

I used to get the plain pulled pork and put it in the freezer, since great barbeque was hard to find where I was living. Just add some sauce and it easily heats up.
