My wife and I decided to try out the food at Shuckers. The restaurant is conveniently located on River Street in the Historic District of the city. It is located in a building that was once a warehouse for goods brought in by the river traffic. We decided to try the food for lunch on a Sunday.
Most of the appetizers were oyster-based. So, a bucket of steamed clams seemed to be in order, along with a pint of beer. For the main meal, a variety of seafood was available, as well as a few sandwiches. I ordered the low-country boil, a mixture of shrimp, clams, oysters, fish, potatoes, and corn that is boiled together for a delicious feast. My wife went for her favorite, salmon.
The oysters and the beer were enough to keep us happy until the main course arrived at our table. Then, we ate our fill. Do I need say that we had to take a box home with food that we couldn't finish?
Although we did not try it, I noticed that the restaurant had a full-stocked bar. The waiters and waitresses kept customers amused with witty chat and all who were at Shuckers seemed to have a happy time. I give this restaurant a hearty recommendation.

This was a place highly recommended to me by a local Savannahian.
Shuckers offers a nice, casual lunch/dinner at more than affordable prices. I had the Oyster Sandwich special while my friend had their buffalo wings. Both were delicious. We were never without a refill of ice tea and water - so much so we almost floated out of there!
Atmosphere is a smoky pub/restaurant type place. A place where friends are guaranteed to meet at for a drink or to watch a game.
Located on the historic River Street, after you have dined on their "shuck your own bucket of oysters" you can roam around River Street and take in the sights.
Servers were all quite friendly and helpful.
