I’m sure that taking the best of both worlds keeps the prices low and the menu extensive. We were there on a Tuesday for an lunch and the restaurant was busy.

The restaurant is clean and simply decorated. There are fluorescent lights as well as some hanging lamps. The interior was a combination of wallpaper and chair rail paneling with cafe curtains and bamboo blinds at the windows. There are both booths and tables with table clothes. Both beer and wine were available, as well as homemade desserts.

Upon entering the restaurant, we saw a sign that said take a menu and find a table. After making our selections, we returned to the counter and placed our order. We were given glasses and got our own drinks from a fountain like those found in fast food places. The owner brought our meals to the table and inquired if any additional sauces, etc., were needed. During the meal, a waitress checked on us several times.

No shrimp with mango salsa for this girl! At Crabby Jack’s, you will find well-prepared traditional seafood. The menu offers such a variety—I cannot imagine anyone complaining! Everyone could find something to his liking and you can have it cooked your favorite way.

To name a few, Crabby Jack’s offers appetizers of seafood chowder, oyster stew, or hot peel and eat shrimp. Lots of salads, including Cobb or Caesar with shrimp, scallops, etc. I saw these on other tables, and they really looked good! For lighter meals, there are sandwiches and a kids menu.

Now, for the best part—the platters and house specialties. As I mentioned above, most can be fried, grilled, blackened, or with teriyaki. Some are also offered potato crusted. The list is practically endless—there are platters with popcorn shrimp, jumbo shrimp, oysters, scallops, crab cakes, flounder, grouper, catfish, etc., or combination platters with your favorites. Specialties include the mahi-mahi, Baked Stuff Shrimp, Baked Scallops in wine and butter, and Fresh Maine Lobster. If you are really hungry, you can add a side serving of many of the choices to your platter. The platters and specialties also include two standard sides—cole slaw, fries, applesauce, baked beans, pickled beets, veggie of the day, potato of the day, and my personal favorite, creamy grits.

Everything is fresh and delicious. I had the blackened mahi mahi with a side order of fried shrimp, fries, and creamy grits. My husband had a combination platter of shrimp, oysters, and flounder with slaw and baked potato. The blackened mahi mahi fillet was huge and is probably the best I have ever eaten! The shrimp are great--lightly battered and fried. The grits were awesome. I enjoyed every bite!

If you want excellent seafood at a reasonable price, this is the place to go!
