Mexican Village Restaurant

Mexican Village Restaurant has been around for many, many years and is still a favorite amongst Detroiters. My girlfriend, who grew up here but moved to the UK, wanted to go for old time’s sake. I have to say it was still as yummy as it was 20 years ago, the last time I was there.

The decor is Mexican and a little old. It could use a refurbishment. The service was good and the pitcher of margaritas was tasty. We all tried different things and were happy with all of our dishes. There were fajitas, a vegetarian platter, a sampler platter that had tostados, flautas, and some other stuff, and I had a wet burrito, cheese and bean only. All were yummy. The price was fair for the amount of food and the continuous flow of tortilla chips.

Just a note: Keep in mind that Mexicantown itself is just west across the I75 expressway. There you will find more restaurants and Mexican shops and bakeries.
