Txapela

Txapela is a great place for anyone who wants to get acquainted with the basque cousin of tapas--pintxos--without feeling like a fish out of water. The menu is on the placemat and consists of about 50 different pictures, all pieces of bread topped with different things: vegetables, meats, cheeses, tortillas, seafood, you name it.

At about 1,75 euros a pop you can eat heartily here, enjoying a Bitburger beer with your food and still keeping your wallet happy. The biggest "problem" you'll face here is waiting in line for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, and remembering which pinxtos you ordered!
