Don't think you can come enjoy a monster dinner at this steakhouse after you finish a round of 18, because that will not be possible. There is no golf course to accompany this country club. Yes, it may sound weird, but it's true. The Minturn Country Club is a unique steakhouse about 5 miles from Vail. What makes it unique is the way they prepare the steaks. Their special way is that they don't prepare them, you prepare them. That's right, you walk in and pick your choice of cut from behind the counter, whether it is steak, chicken, or seafood, along with whatever sides you want, and then the meat is yours. They have grills located throughout the restaurant to grill your meat. They will give you instructions on how long to cook whatever cut of meat you purchased, but the rest is up to you. They have a salad bar, assorted sauces for your meat, and toast, which is excellent when grilled and topped a little garlic butter.

It will probably cost around $20 per plate, but that could vary. You will pay the same here or a little less as you would at any other steakhouse, but the awesome and unique environment puts Minturn Country Club over the top. This is a fun family destination if everyone is up for something different. It can be a little hectic around the grill, so make sure you know what you're doing before you throw the meat on the grill.

You choose and cook your entree yourself, or there are menu choices. All of the items we had were very good. The staff is very friendly. The food was very good.
