Germantown Commissary

This is, in my opinion, the best barbeque I have ever eaten. It is small and away from the bustle of downtown, but the Commissary offers pulled plates, ribs, a kid’s menu, and, my favorite, the Bossman Salad. It is a Cobb salad big enough for two topped with barbequed meat. I like it best with Ranch and barbeque sauce. On the weekends, expect a wait, but it's definitely worth it!

This is a great barbeque place in the heart of Old Germantown, across from the RR Depot. The place once served as the commissary store for the RR. You can see the Presbyterian Church down the street that served as a Union hospital during the Civil War, and soldiers from both armies camped along these RR tracks.

Pulled pork, cheese and sausage plate, and the boss man salad are all excellent choices. Substitute the potato salad for the slaw. They have some of the best sweet tea in town. There is banana pudding or homemade pies for dessert.

If you are going to the FedEx-St Jude PGA tournament or the Germantown Charity Horseshow, this is a great place to eat.
