This restaurant is located in the mid-city Carollton Avenue neighborhood north of the French Quarter. A local place through and through, they brew awesome beer right there on property. I recommend Lagniappe Lager & Amber. They also have a small but diverse selection of international brews. The food is good-quality and relatively cheap, with nightly specials that include Steak Nite, Rib Nite, and all-you-can eat boiled crawfish (in season) or shrimp on Fridays and Saturdays. It's not within walking distance of any major hotels, but worth the short trip.
