Terrible! Customer Service Is Not Apriority Here!

We were here this past weekend with family we haven 't seen in a few years. My cousin called to make special arrangements for her daughters 15th bday dinner on Sunday evening. Her daughter loves nascar and all of all the locations to choose from, she chose here to eat. It was confirmed by phone earlier that day that a party of 15 would be arriving at 8:15pm. They took my cousins cell number and her hotel number. When we arrived at 8:00 pm, we found that the restaurant was CLOSED!!
Though the sign at the entrance said open till 10:00 pm!
My Aunt went up stairs and noticed indeed it was closing and they were cleaning up, she asked them what was going on and told them we had 8:15 reservations and the girl up there said I know you do and we told our manager you were coming in and he told us to close up at 8:00. HOW TERRIBLE! It gets worse, we go to find management of the Sahara to see what we could do and to file a complaint...here our party is here with a birthday cake and all and no where to go! We got quite a run-around, first they said the manager of the Nascar Cafe was gone...then they got a casino manager who was of NO help, he had a very "not my problem" attitude, yet the Nascar Cafe is part of HIS hotel??!! Low and behold they manage to suddenly find the "manager" of the Nascar Cafe and he claimed there was no way we made these reservations, he claimed he knew nothing of this (though his 2 employees said he did and said to shut down early anyway). He wouldn't even look at us in the eye when talking, he kept his arms folded with terrible body language and didn't care of the fact that he ruined the bday dinner of a young girl who lives so far away and was looking very forward to celebrating at Nascar. I personally go to Vegas often, I live in So. Cal and I travel a lot. They don't!!!
This establishment treated my family like they were dirt. They had about 6 "security guards" around us (mind you my husband is a "real" police officer and was with us,and couldn't get over ever how rude and cold the security staff was being (with the exception of one). They sent us on our way not even offering to set up a party at one of their other restaurants.....they didn't even so much as offer a coupon for another visit if they ever come back. The attitude was OH WELL, WE DON'T CARE. I have never ever seen such poor customer service and care at a Vegas hotel let alone a big name eating establishment like NASCAR. We ended up going to the MGM Grand and celebrating at The Rain Forest Cafe.....NOW THAT WAS CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ITS FINEST! They knew what happened at Nascar and they made sure my cousins daughter had a night to remember. It was magical and the food was awesome! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THE NASCAR CAFE....OR AT THE SAHARA CASINO OR HOTEL!!!

You don't have to be a racing fan to enjoy the Nascar Cafe at the Sahara Hotel, although the theme is definitely carried through the restaurant. They have a life size car hanging from the center of the ceiling. They also have big screen televisions spread throughout the restaurant, all tuned into some sporting event.

The menu is actually diverse for a theme restaurant, with a bit of a southern flair. Rib enthusiasts should definitely check this place out. I also recommend the pulled pork quesadillas.

The staff is very friendly and both times we went we were seated right away, no waiting for a table.

The Nascar Cafe

This was an okay restaurant. We only ate here because we were here to ride the roller coaster, and we had a buy-one-meal, get-one-free coupon. I probably would not eat here unless you have one of those coupons, because it really is not worth the money. The food was decent, though, just not worth the money. And the service left a lot to be desired.
