From our experience we can say that if you are skeptical about venturing into town trying to find a good restaurant, try dinning at the parador’s restaurant. The usually offer great local dishes at fairly reasonable prices. They also feature an ample selection of both regional and Rioja wines for a good price. Their list will often have a "wine of the month" and it will generally be a great bargain. They offer a breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner are a la carte. The restaurant is very well decorated.
