I’m sure that most people who travel to the UK have discovered that the best and cheapest way to dine is at any number of pubs throughout the country. Pub Grub rules! One of many comes to mind: "Spud Mulligan's" located a short walk from the Transportation Museum in downtown Glasgow. The food was basic pub grub, bangers and mash [for the novice that’s sausages & mashed potatoes]. You know. The good stuff. My son just fell in love with the quality of sausages in Scotland. The entire lunch bill for the four of us came to just over 16 pounds.
