The building looks like an old fish camp and the decor is the same inside with old signs, fishing gear and even a flat bottom boat on the wall.
But it was the food, which they call a "mouth-waterin mix of southern fryin', low country boilin' and a dash of Cajun spice - all served in a friendly relaxed atmosphere."
There were so many things I wanted to try that I had a hard time making up my mind but I finally settled on the Up the Creek platter of oysters for $10.99, which came with fries, hushpuppies and slaw. Absolutely delicious.
My wife opted for the shrimp and scampi pasta which she said was also very good.
After having such a good meal and upon the recommendation of our innkeepers we returned for our evening meal. This time we each for the Fish Camp boil, which was also very good but with all they gave us I believe we could have probably gotten by with just one.
It consisted of a skillet full of shrimp, crab claws, catfish and sausage steamed with corn, carrots, potatoes and served over rice in a tomato sauce. It also came with a biscuit.
These restaurants are reportedly part of a chain and I know we can't wait to find another.
